Interior design of the coffeeshop, Route 66, Warmoestraat, Amsterdam. The name ‘Route 66’ is brought back into the interior. Couches and lights are united into one shape; a big road runs through the shop from the entree till the back end. The walls give a desert feeling using wooden plates milled into ‘sandy’ waves. A wide wall painting about the real route 66, which was there before the reconstruction, has been kept visible. Modern outlines of plexiglas cactuses are placed in front of this hand painted scenery to create a new layer.
In assignment with Diego Alonso Design.
